Mogao Caves

Located near Dunhuang, China, the Mogao Caves is a system of 492 temples that contains one of the most significant collections of Buddhist art and architecture in the world, spanning over a thousand years. As a historically significant crossroad of the Silk Road located between China and Europe, Dunhuang flourished both culturally and economically.

Today, the Mogao Caves remains a significant cultural site and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. We have partnered and supported the Dunhuang Foundation in their mission to preserve and restore the Mogao Caves, as well as their outreach and educational endeavors to promote the caves.
